Navigator is an instrument training program for general aviation pilots. It operates in two modes.

In Learn mode you move and/or rotate the items on the map (VOR 1, VOR 2, NDB, aircraft) and see how the instruments (VOR 1, VOR 2, ADF, HI) respond. You can also change the orientation of the map by rotating the compass arrow.

In Test mode the map is put into a random configuration and your task is to determine the aircraft location. Move and/or rotate the aircraft until it is in the the position indicated by the instruments. You can also set the OBS on the VORs.

Pros and cons of Navigator: Instrument Training app for iPhone and iPad

Navigator: Instrument Training app good for

As advertised. Great training aid for initial & recurrent IFR flying/exams for VOR & NDB work. Very easy to use.
This is a practical, fun self-training tool for navigation. Might even help somebody pass the IFR written, never know...
I suppose this is not aimed at commercial or IFR pilots who should know this stuff inside and out, but VFR pilots that dont generally use instruments much, can get rusty.... ...and students trying to wrap their heads around radio navigation will find this handy to help learn. - this little app helps keep you sharp; why play a brainless game when you have 20 minutes to kill waiting for something or in a cab or on the train? This is a perfect way to keep entertained in a constructive way, that could literally save your life if you ever find yourself with out a GPS while lost in deteriorating Wx! I give it 5 stars because it does what it says it does, and this is a better study aide than many other methods I have used to stay sharp with radio navigation, which I have to admit I am not very motivated to think about.
I am working on my commercial license and my instructor has been on me about improving the time it takes to locate myself on the map. This app does a great job of drilling the user on that. It doesnt do much beyond that. It is much cheaper than simulator time.
Nice start to a promising app. This is a great training tool for anyone working on their instrument ticket and who just needs to review visually what the the instruments will look like. As a pilot, we should always be training and instruments are one area that continually needs to be re-visited. This app should be added as one of your training tools.
This app is a lot of fun to use to practice VOR and NDB navigation. Its very simple, but a very helpful and effective training tool. I would like to see DME included as a configurable setting in the future.

Some bad moments

As usual it looks good but has areas that could have been thought out a lot better. Should able to fine tune direction. Should be able to turn heading of aircraft with heading indicator with out dragging it and again fine tune heading. Very glitchy Priced WAY too high, not worth it. Please work on it some more then please send out an update Simair1
